The diaphragm pressure gauge is a closed system consisting of a diaphragm and a pressure gauge, with the interior filled with a sealing fluid.
When pressure acts on the diaphragm, it deforms. The sealing fluid transmits force to an elastic element within the pressure gauge head, which then displays the pressure. In a diaphragm pressure gauge, force is transmitted via a fluid between the diaphragm and the Bourdon tube. The elastic element is still the Bourdon tube. The diaphragm isolates the pressure gauge from corrosive fluids, thereby protecting it from corrosion.
